In an average month 440 fines are issued for bus lane violation at Shortstown, Bedfordshire.
At 60 quid a throw, that's over 26 thousand pounds. If they used the already existing, but lowered, hydraulic barrier, they would be sgort of over a quarter million each year!

56 years after it was decided it was needed, the Bedford Bypass is nearing completion. The last single carriageway length of it.We have the most photogenic mayor though, always being photographed doing nothing

Is this hydraulic barrier one of those rising bollards?

From past discussions there is very good reason why they would not be using it. i.e. What happens when a tailgating car gets caught on one of those.
