Locally, we have had complaints around parts of town about the "Saxo Boys" using certain roads to "roar around"...

Result - the van is out...

You might think "good thing too", BUT...

I drive home from work on one of these roads, and on Friday I came around the bend in my Porsche to see a van - I was, of course doing less than 30 - it's going home time and I'm very law abiding in built-up areas. Later, the Saxos were out and van was gone - they do their thing at night. However the local council and partnership will be saying they have increased enforcement in problem areas.

D'oh!

...and the rest of that sentence that they fail to add is :
"and we have failed to address the actual problem" .... which I appreciate was your point.
It is carefully chosen words .... sadly those which sound good but have little substance. And as for providing any road safety - well no ... :headbash:

Yet a few regular Policemen would solve it for the long term as well as provide good advice for those who otherwise might flaunt many laws, and gain much needed public support.

And of course , once round the bend the van would be highly visible. But ,it seems that more & more ,we're hearing about this tactic & placement , where the enforcement area is where the van can spot you ,before you spot the van .And they tell us it's all about "deterrent" ,and trying to keep folks within the posted limit .
