On Sunday the 20th july 2008 I am not sure if I was speeding coming out of Llangollen.
I have been on holiday for a week and got back Saturday 2/08/08.
A card has been left at our house dated 1/08/08, which looks like it is for my wife who is not a driver and was not driving.
The postman may have used the wrong intial and it may be for me!
So to get to the question, btw we will pick the recorded dly letter up tommorow, do North Wales send out their NIPs by recorded delivery?I am near the 14 day limit and hope that I am in the clear, thanks.

you could fill out the card and arange to have it delivered after the 14 days. You then have proof of delivery date :)

A notice sent by post must be dispatched so that it would reach the driver within the 14 days within the ordinary course of the post. If this is the case then it will have been deemed to have been served even if it is delivered outside the 14 day period.

The recorded letter was for my wife and it was not a NIP!
If I include the day of the possible offence
20th July 2008, then today is the 16th day after the event.
Or 15 days if I don't include the 20th.
So by Tues or Weds I should be safe :)
Still no NIP!

As far as I'm aware, within the UK only Northern Ireland law requires them to send NIPs by recorded delivery.

Also, don't go to North Wales by car, silly. Actually, just don't go to North Wales.
