Hello Everyone,

I was traveling north on M6 this morning 02:00 through the roadworks at junction 36, I was speeding through a 50 MPH zone.

I noticed at the last minute a van on the hard shoulder in the coned area, I have never seen the livery before, blue van, reflective chevrons on the rear, "Think Safety" slogan on the rear and side.

Does anyone know what this van is, is it a new Amey highways van or is it a new Cumbria Safety Camera van.

Also, I tried to search the forum but could not find an answer as to if these type of camera vans work at night.

Was it like one of these? They come in a range of attractive colours and are designed to look like a sunbed installation vehicle.
By the time you get to see them close enough to tell the difference, you would already have been zapped if you were speeding.

You can read all about their futile attempts to reduce fatalities here... http://www.cumbriasafetycameras.org
Actually you WOULD if they actually did what it says on the can!

I thought those roadworks were covered by SPECS anyway?

Hi again,

The van I seen was a similar colour to the one pictured and definately in Cumbria.

It definitely was not that design though, I have seen these, they come in a variety of colours.

The van that I saw had "Think Safety" with a swirling yellow road logo.

I was hoping to be back down this way today but got a different route.
