Got flashed in france last week on holiday does anyone know if they can forward the fine yet? Got flashed the last 3 holidays previous to that holiday whilst visiting my family but got nothing through.

I recently started a thread about this, and the answer was no they don't send the fine/points on. Your apparently more likely to have had to pay an on-the-spot fine with being foreign, and since this didn't happen you shouldn't have a problem.

A the moment it is unlikely you will ever here anything. Same as foreign drivers on our roads. Its just not economic to process...

They are trying to close the loop hole but it's an EU thing so I would not worry about it just yet.

my colleague recently got a fine through from germany..... a hire car that wasn't in his name. quite impressive... then again it is only 30 euros

Currently no reciprocal agreement over points on licences within EU. Only one I know of is between France and Switzerland. Think the Swiss and Germans have also started this kind of carry on or were discussing it!

Currently more likely to receive and on the spot fine. If you really take the "p155" - they can confiscate the car on the spot too. (Usually their own locals get this and have to walk home! )

However, if you pay for hire car by credit card - have heard that they can and have sent the fine tothe hire company who then claw it back from your credit card/switch card details.

You can get a list of all fixed and planned mobile sites by doing a google for "radar fixes" and "bison fute". (Think Mad Doc put the links on the thread Capri refers to. ) The "starenkasten" list on www.radarfalle.de is also very useful too.

From experience - they will trace hire cars, and then TRY to claim it off you - they cannot take it off the credit card once the transaction is closed - i.e at the end of the hire period.
In my case it was for parking in a disabled bay at the ferry port - 3 days after we returned home!!
Did'nt even bother replying - it was'nt worth the bother of translating it all!!
The French Police were not bothered - just the hire company - until I pointed out their error in timescale!
