New technology in itself is not a bad thing if its is merely an additional driver aid, but its the effect on the behavoir of drivers who have a lot of technology that concerns me.
Agreed again. I guess I must be a bit of a wimp regarding cornering and braking power, as I use only a small proportion of what is available to me.
The greater cornering power (for example) of modern cars can actually make things worse, in so far as if you do overestimate the speed at which you can take a bend you might now go off at 60 mph rather than 50. It's the same sort of mistake, but it can now happen at higher speed than hitherto.
