save the planet how? they still burn fossil fuels. by contrast a ferrari run on biofuel would be zero-pollution.

There will come a time, whether it's in fifty or five hundred years time, when there's simply going to be no more fossil fuel left to burn - at which point the problem will cease to exist.
I wonder what excuse they'll then come up with to restrict our mobility.

I cringe whenever I hear someone utter the words, "save the planet".
Who, or what, are we supposed to be 'saving the planet' for? Our great grandchildren? And when they grow up are they going to be told that they must be good earthlings, wear hairshirts and sandals, eat lentils, not go anywhere that's not within walking distance etc etc, in order to 'save the planet' for their great-grandchildren?

And would quickly have the Inland Revenue banging on your door for not paying fuel duty.

Hyrbids are a pointless gimmick that don't actually deliver the gains that they promise (In reality the MPG gain is in the low single digits) and store up big problems for the future when the batteries stop working and need to be thrown away and replaced.

No wonder the government likes them. Both have the same method of thinking.
