That camera ad would be quite easy to make. Find the odd bit of film with a person bouncing off the bonnet in a similar looking area which shows an in car view first. Film the section just looking at the speedo and a bit of the bonnet and road in front and then tack on the person rolling off the bonnet. Or you could cheat and film it in slow motion and get a person to volunteer to roll off the bonnet convincingly before speeding it back up. If you drive along at about 5 mph then you can speed it up by factor of 6 to get 30 mph or 8 for 40 mph. You'd need to do it on a dry clear and still day as waggling trees in the background would give away what you did.
If you want to reinforce the message you could repeat it with a general warning about in car distractions eg fiddle with radio - bang. Fiddle with phone - bang. Fiddle with satnav - bang. Stare at the roadside camera - bang. Ending on a question eg 'so what's the difference?'. Answer being - the latter is what the authorities want you to do so you stay within the limit. Subversive or what?

The new bbc local service might be a good place to get it aired for free. Or you could cut the tag line as that would probably be the contentious bit.

From a 'technical' point of view. Speeded up film ALWAYS, without fail looks like the Keystone Cops as you speed up the one constant you've no control over - gravity no matter how much to try to compensate for body & car movements. It is much less asthetically & perceptually 'disturbing' if it is slowed even further, even to almost (motion blurred) freeze frame.
Here is my personal tribute to teabellies script! With low budget 'effects'.
NEVER, EVER cut to 'intended' impact victim - this should be as unexpected as in real life. unlike every show out there, we're not trying to build a character rapport or personalise this...
Normal speed interior & exterior shots,
General speed & surroundings check
(prove to viewers was NEVER speeding and no hazards in sight).
Phone rings, reaches to turn down radio & then hits bluetooth handsfree or in-car system. "Speak to you soon, I'll be there in 5mins".
(No long 'distracting' conversation.)
Then diversify into endings:
A) Continues down VERY recognisable street & pulls into driveway.
REPEAT section 1
B) Spots Mobile SCamera (parked on SAME residential street) - looks at speedo (1 second) - looks at van - looks at speedo (1 second) - looks at van - looks at speedo (2 seconds)....passing van ,pedstrian walks out into road 15' from behind van.
SCREECH BANG, Ketchup & leftover turkey giblets on a broken windscreen
Similar idea for fixed units - double trip. One without Gatso - other with.
Opening shot - chatting to passenger " I always try to drive at the recommended limit you can never be too sure of these speed camera things". Is following car in front at recommended 2sec gap. (internal & external shots) Checks speed for exactly 2 seconds (not overly excessive - enough to look, log & process). Fade out on forward view.
Journey resets.
Passing same (or visually similar) site, sees fixed Gatso, and on approach check speedo for the same 2 seconds, external shot of driver in front 'panic braking' purely in response to the gatso - it MUST be in shot. Use same EASILY identifyable cars. Massive amounts of screeching tyres, scared look on OUR drivers face. No need for death scenes.
What'dya think - should I not give up my day job
