I bet he has never had a car with a choke either,

I had a post office bedford HA van limited to 50!

The main beam switch on the floor, tr4 and mini.

A reserve switch on the petrolin my triumph herald

The ford fiesta I bought new ... I had to go up a model to get 2 wing mirrors, a parcel shelf and headrests. (85)

I was one of the first to pass the two part motorcycle test and created merry hell because for the first time vat was payable on a driving test.

and the day after passing your test you sat next to your mate as a qualified driver who was on "L" plates (usually going out to the pub! in a convoy of 850cc mini's and other cheap cars)

I went to hire a van a while back (in this country) and I forgot the paper bit. They can phone DVAL for a fee (about £2 when it happened to me) and check so long as you have the photo part. Whether or not they will is another question

But of course Botach - your old style licence can be stolen / forged / you might be a terrorist    Oh yeah, and they can rip you off more for a photocard :P

Anton - no I've never driven a car with a manual choke, but enough of the he...! :P

I have driven a rather interesting 4x4 where the solenoid on the centre dif had broken, so in order to engage dif lock the previous owner had put a gert lever through the floor directly onto the dif.....

Its not common knowledge, but I read the booklet that came with my licence to understand it all, I passed in 1997 (missed it by about 10 weeks) and at the time you got a booklet letting you know of all the recent changes. There was also recent chat about this on a drifting forum I use because some of the lads want to tow non road legal drift cars to events with Transit vans and/or big saloon cars.

As far as I'm concerned, I can drive a 2 tonne van or pick up truck and tow a car with it, not that I've had to yet.
