"So no wife in order to gain best in-car visibility? That's really minimalist!"

I also took the middle head rest out of my last car so I could see better.

You will be branded a threat to society by going over a speed limit where it is safe to do so, and suffer the consequences of your actions in a way criminals do not, more so than someone who is a real threat to our society.

When you get down to it, I suppose I just object to people with children thinking that this entitles them to some special status. The enshrining in law of maternity leave, child benefits etc. reinforces this view but actually is prejudice against the childless.

You can have children if you want. Just pay for them yourself.

But they do have special status! They get preferential treatment at supermarket car parks, they are allowed to use prams/pushchairs as battering rams...
And to make things worse, I have to pay for them!

I'm with you on this one Malcolm.

Hi All

I think the place for Baby on Board signs should be the dashboard not the rear windscreen!

I like it! :D

:welcome:

PS. Actually, there should be a few others on the dash too; like 'Keep your distance', ‘Using your mobile will render others immobile’, ‘Safety first, speed second’..

I actually like the idea of making it an offence to display such a sign whilst not carrying a baby, or rather I would if the story about emergency services taking it into consideration were actually true. I understand that it may be true in the US however.

Can we also make it an offence to display "Princess on board" unless you are actually transporting a female who is a direct descendent of the queen?

Actually no, I find signs like this just contribute a small fraction to a car's overall "Idiocy probability" figure. Let them continue to have them, so that I can continue to identify the idiots, same with hand held phones, fluffy bunnies, terrible satnav positioning, aftermarket bodykits etc. etc.

As for tax discs. I just stick them in the top left. The law only says "left hand side of the windscreen". They are then hidden by the sun visor normally.

It seems the first owner of my car had the same objection to stickers blocking the windscreen as although my car has a Shaken (Japanese MOT) sticker in the rear windscreen, it's been aligned such that it's behind the headrest when viewed from the driver's seat.

Do you know what, I am 100% in agreement with weepy on this one. I have often wondered about the mindset of people who put these stickers in their cars. Do they believe that they produce a magical force-field around the car, meaning that they don't have to take any responsibility for their offspring or driving.

No. The stickers do not do that as the effect is not great enough. You need a horsebox if you want to do that.
