Valle Crucis what are you talking about you pyscho sicko?

As for these images of vandalised cameras I can see why people do it. It must feel good after coming home from a "raid", taking your balaclava off and putting your feet up knowing that you have attained sweet revenge.

However the root cause of the problem is the speed limits, why are they so low? Atleast for the motorway I would like to see introduction of a "speed appropiate for the conditions" policy with no fixed speed limits leaving it up to the driver to decide an appropiate speed. For people blantantly driving dangerously then they could simply be convicted of dangerous driving.

It feels good looking at the pictures though, and the extremely amusing captions towards the bottom of them :D

Hi Flynn and welcome!

Whilst I agree with the principle of your argument to remove speed limits from our motorways in favour of driver-centred responsibility, the practice is far from that simple. Our roads are now so badly deteriorated from years of neglect that many are unsafe for 'basic' drivers above about 80 mph - there are several sections that this may well be lowered to 50 mph due to poor surface and 'truck-ruts'.
Get yourself off to a 'track day' at a racing circuit and you will realise just how piss-poor our roads are.

I understand what you're saying, but I would hate to see someone more disingenuous using the condition of the road to justify lowering speed limits.

Correct sequence would be: 1. mend roads > 2. raise limit.

More likely: 1. allow roads to deteriorate > 2. lower limit > 3. go to 1.

Quite.
I was out on the 'bike Thursday.
I was [under] impressed by that new shiny tarmac.
The stuff lasts about a week before the repair squads start fixing it. Mainly, it cracks.
That is sorted by filling the cracks with what looks like resin.
It also seems remarkably porous, it leaks water through the surface....after it has been dry for days it is still seeping through.
It also has a very alarming tendency for large lumps of it to become detached and airborne.

56 years after it was decided it was needed, the Bedford Bypass is nearing completion. The last single carriageway length of it.We have the most photogenic mayor though, always being photographed doing nothing
