Well the hypocrisy is amazing.......on Friday driving along the last section of the M65 past Burnley towards Colne and happened to notice a Scam Van in front of me. I was in L1 behind it, and matched it's speed - 80-85mph according to my speedo. Now I happened to turn off the motorway into Colne directly behind it - short stretch at 50mph but then when you hit Colne it becomes 30mph. Followed it all the way through along the A6068 through Colne and then onto the stretch in Laneshawbridge where I've received my one and only conviction (by a bloody scam-van :furious: ). Still 30 limit, I clocked the van doing 36-37 all the way to its destination - a Gatso enforcing this 30mph limit

Now I did take a note of its registration (best not post it here in public view though), and am very tempted to write to Lancs Scams highlighting this. However, the problem I have is that the only reason I know the van was above the speed limit is because I was too! Self-incrimination possibly? Any ideas anyone?? :)

make enquiries with regards to explaining why the van was pulling away from you when you were cruising at the speed limit?

they will probably come back with something like their vans are fitted with a speed recording device, i would imagine they get loads of complaints that their vans are speeding, off the public

No surprises there then. Earlier this week I followed one of the Thames Valley talivans through the Handy Cross roadworks on the A404 - a temporary 40 limit - with it comfortably pulling away from me. My speed? I wasn't taking the piss (never do through roadworks, even if they're deserted 99% of the time) but neither would I have been safe from being pinged if the van had been parked up instead of disappearing into the distance...

Sadly, these are just two more examples of SCP hypocrisy to add to the over-long list of complaints about their employees exceeding the limit, parking in unsafe locations, and otherwise behaving in a manner which does nothing to improve their public image

I do despair.

Our mob are given clear instructions. We can only "do what we need to do within safety led reason if on a shout"

at all other times we are required to comply to the lolly as credibility and public trust rely on this

About 10 days ago, I was driving west along the M50. I saw someone behind flash me in my rear view mirror. Behind him, I could see a white car, steaming up the offside lane. He came past me at 90-95mph. Ah yes, I recognise that car - the West Mercia police, where they think it's OK to drive at 159mph on a motorway to test their cars out.

This guy turned off at my exit (J2) and headed into Ledbury - just where I was going. He hit traffic and I was able to keep up with him. By the time we got to Ledbury I was right behind him, and he was just cruising through the traffic just like anyone else, ie. NOT an emergency. Oh well, at least he didn't do 86mph through a 30 area - unlike last time.

Probably the same Lancs scam van/driver I had overtaking me north bound on the M6 North of Preston about 6 weeks ago.

He didn't just edge past me - shot probably closer to the word, so must have been doing quite a bit more than the 70ish I was doing.

You really do have to make a complaint!
