What is this "scanny" deserting the old beasts from Stuttgart then

Coming over to a proper truck :bunker: :bunker: :bunker:

I drive at present a MAN 420TGA highliner and I get my new one on 1st Nov   :bighand: :bighand: :bighand:

On a serious note though even from the days of the Merc 1214 from many moons ago and through to the EPS box ones then the Actros and now the new Actros,s I must admit I have never been a fan of Mercs from the days of the air over hydraulic brakes even though we run a mixed fleet of MAN,s and Mercs I still don,t like them but some drivers do so it is really horses for courses at the end of the day

the difference is that truck drivers tend to have a special bond with each other although admittedly it is on the decline these days. i have stopped to help drivers before when their load has shifted or a sheet has worked its way loose or even just to give directions. few other workers seem to have that bond. plus its an attraction for kids. kids always like to see the giants of the roads up close. its just the shame the organisers are promoters rather than industry workers. they could highlight so many of our issues at the events but they leave it up to the individual organisations to buy some space to set up their own stands. nothing we arent used to i suppose

Just thought I would say hi to everyone as I have just joined. I am a class 1 driver - working night trunk on wagon & drag (DAF CF's). Only had my licence for 3yrs but still love every minute of my job (when I get out of the transport office that is!!).
I always wanted to drive wagons from being a lad - got the bug from my dad who did distance many many years ago, and every school holiday was spent with him away (he never got his HGV - only drove 7.5t).
Great site   and hope to join in few topics with you's
