I have many miles experience of group rides and unfortunately I advise against these rides. Its actually safer riding round the Isle of man during TT week than on these club rides or casual group get togeathers. Going out for a ride with one or two mates whom you know well as riders, who your used to etc can be very enjoyable but these group rides are really a gang of strangers with varied riding styles and capabilities added to that you always get one or two high spirited riders along with one or two idiots along with one or two show offs not to mention the odd novice and all of these simply do not gel well togeather......avoid them I say or pick your own route from A to B or give everyone a good half hour start. Ive seen too many crashes and too much attraction of boys in blue. It has nothing to do with type of bike/exhaust/image etc its a brain thing!
