So I was near Hampden last night just before the Uefa Cup final. I was driving away from the stadium
here so I was heading east. Think of me as entering this map travelling on the main road heading east. Coming towards me around the bend ahead was a police motorbike with blues on. I eased off. Behind the bike was a double decker bus. And another bus. And another bus, all carrying fans to the match. This third bus came around the bend half on my side of the road - I eased off again and moved as far left as I could without getting too close to the parked cars. Another bus...another bus.
By this time I am at the section of road where it's just starting to curve round to the right and I'm doing around 20mph. I entered the bend with my view of the road ahead obscured by the latest double decker heading the other way to find another police bike with blues on heading straight at me in the middle of my side of the road as he overtook the bus on the bend
That was interesting.

Fortunately we both had time to react - I made even more space and he moved into it.
Thinking back on it now, the earlier bus coming around on the wrong side of the road put me into 'extreme defensive mode', for want of a better expression, and that's what helped make this more of a 'flippin' 'eck' moment than a brown trouser one.
Next time I see one police bike and I can't see his mate I'm going to assume he'll be round the next bend on my side of the road! (You'd think I'd know that already

)
