OK, what I'm about to relate I in now way condone

!
Many,
many years ago (whilst pumped up on adrenaline/testosterone)* I know someone who purposely ran down a 'pedestrian'.
*Hey, if women can use hormones as a defence.......
Whilst 'hauling ass' as best they could up a not insignificant road, a group of three 'young males' were walking down the pavement (UK), as the cycle approached (30') one of them wandered out into its path, cyclist moves over, numptie moves into path again (20'), cyclist moves back, F.Wit side steps (10'), cyclist goes F&*%? IT and keeps going. Both take a tumble (impact speed about 5mph), 'ped'

DOES NOT COMPUTE! DOES NOT COMPUTE! Both get up, "what'd you do that for?"v's "what'dya think the pavements for?" - bet he never played chicken with a cyclist again.
I also know of an occasion when a cycling mate of mine (not same as above), was cut up on two sucessive LH turns by a female driver to the point of being forced to 'bunny hop'up the kerb to save from being squashed. At the next corner, he pulled alongside. Got off his bike and kicked the 'proverbial' out of her passenger door. She just gripped the steering wheel and did jack, he gets back on bike, and never heard anything about it. No police, no nothing. Well, imagine "Madam, why did the cyclist do this? Em... I kinda pushed him off the road at the last two corners."
I've also been 'road raged', to the point of being chased (by man in car) & assaulted. As most cyclist do, we stay to the left of the cariageway we are using at most given times. Now on a fantastic right hander, cambered, downhill, the works I loved to push the limits a la 'moto-GP'. High entry speed, lean all the way (sometimes clipped the road with SPD's if I was late it getting inside crank up) and power out. Usually 25mph ish as it was pretty tight. Now Mr A. Hole in escort cut inside me during the bend taking inside line, my exit speed was higher than his - I pulled ahead, (27/28mph) he stays just to my right/rear, at end of short road is RH turn, he's still behind, I look, signal & move. Not a happy bunny, next little R / L combo and a straight - he pulls in front & skids to halt (smoke everywhere), gets out and runs at me. I stop to half confront him/half can't be arsed running from a madman in a car. I'm thrown against a wall, only a couple of hundred yards from the police station! (Mr H) "WTF do you think you're playing at you little P!" (Me) "YOU cut me up on the corner, do you want to take this to the police" Mr H leaves & wheel spins on exit. I'm left with a few onlookers before I nip onto my local bike shop for a coffee.
Saying that, most of my car related incidents have 'just' been SMIDSY's, usually resulting in me sliding down the rear windscreen. Don't these eejits realise bikes can get up a reasonable speed, and we need space to stop too?
