I also questioned this at first. I guess it is because of the risk of the trouser slowly riding up through the sock and getting more play so getting caught in the chain/chainring. In this respect I think cycle clips would be safer; deep cycle clips would be the safest.

Oo, I dunno.

The other morning I was free wheeling down a hill and then I went to pedal again and my legs were totally numb with cold and I nearly lost my footing. I must have looked a bit wierd, not close to coming off but I could've.

I wear legging in winter. I wear shorts in summer. I know there as some uncool "eejits" out there though

Shall I say terry towel white "sport socks" to some

But some do indeed need this band .. and I think Germans are right .. recycling and making their vulnerable feel needed

I support even if I do not need the darned clip

But I use leggings in winter and shors in summer.
