Which is what CW's Dr Hutch should have entitled his piece on///

overtaking cyclists by .. errrr.. ummm.. err.. cyclists

It seems that Dr Hutch tried the friendly wave .. which seemed to be mistaken for .. er  sarcasm :?

I~OK as Dr Hutch wryly comments.. you are pedalling along without a care in the worlde (as today in decentish summer fun) and decide not to overtake lest they get "upset".. so you sit on their back wheel for about 20 miles .. before they

Dr Hutch in CW wrote:

glance over their shoulder and jump out of their jersey with shock  :?

This is frowned on by riders who just frown on things ... [b]

 He's "met" 'em in cycber la-la land ... otherwise known as that "dark place"

As he wryly writes

Quote:

You can pass them with a cheery "Heeeelllloooooo!" - but any vowel will do really as they won't hear properly) and wave with a cheery inside hand... Only  :? You are not supposed to do this either ..

:hehe: We know.. it's the same when we ride past or .. worse still // drive past

or ..

Quote:

You can ease up.. alongside to exchange pleasanteries,, before pressing on forwards /... ride together for the rest of the day.. .. discover they are on a stolen bike .. or go for a roll in a haystack..

Steady on Doc!
Doc Hutch says he usually opts for the "zipper past" Mainly because he usually catches up with the type he does not want to bin a training session for...

He reckons this is wrong of him.. I

I think  :yesyes:

But he writes that he met "Gareth" last week. It seems he pedalled at full bonkin' honkin' and zipped past another rider who shouted ..

Quote:

 SLOW DOWN MATE>> SLOW DOWN

It seems Doc Hutch did.. and felt like he was in the Les Dawson "houswife" sketch .. :rotfl:

He writes :rotfl;

Quote:

[b]I was so bored at going so slow that I wanted to eat my handlebars

OY.. Not Swiss is he.. sort of stuff they tend to write :rotfl: :bunker:

Quote:

I am sure his family like him.. But I think they love him best when he's out of earshot... "No no noo yes .. dear .. go for a bike ride"!"

:rotfl: Dear Lord.. I never thought I'd read this in a cycling rag :rotfl: I am still laughing .. nay in hysterics at this piece .. :rotfl:

Quote:

I tried to drop him uphill.. but he complained

:rotfl: He met our forum pet :hehe:

Quote:

Hypnotized .. I was drawn into waiting for him. I could not go home because I did not want him to get an inkling of where I lived ..

:rotfl:

Quote:

I've restricted myself to using the turbo trainer because I'm scared he's out there somewhere.,. to tell me how he bought David Millar's Mum a cup of tea..

:rotfl:

[quote]

The next time you are catching up on someone // do yourslef a favour.. turn around and go the other way.. [/quote

NOPE .. Doc Hutch.. just continue to zip past them.. and let them frown.. Much more satisfying

Comments guys? What would you advise Doc Hutch

You're post has confused me somewhat IG - what's going on, a cyclist wanting to overtake other cyclists? Have I missed something?

What are you on, IG? Your posts are always difficult to comprehend but this takes the biscuit. Any chance of a coherent version of that without so many smilies.
