Ta IG.
Cramp? I cannot describe how awful it can be when it "bites" you. For record all the cycling mags contain decent advice as to how to cope
But please! If it persists, consult your GP who can give some sound advice too.
As for the toe thing? Wildy and self (now don't laugh

) but we do Yoga classes together. The "teacher" told us about this one.
Now there are different types of Yoga from the Hatha (realxing) to the more strenuous work-ou "hold them stretches forever" ones. We do one hour per week of both at the gym Anyway the yoga instructor did tell us to apply pressure "at the point between the big toe and the second toe" if a spasm occurs in a leg stretch. It does work.

(We also do one hour of Pilates too. It helps my wife keep "supple" after "incident of which regulars all know what happened"
I will recommend both Hatha Yoga to provide relaxing and disciplined muscle stretches plus some "calming of mind" in these hectic busy days we seem to want to live in and Pilates for the more "empowering muscle stretch toning". Regular Yoga/Pilates type exercises within individual capabilities also help in my opinion. (By the way, I advise my patients to try these forms of gentle exercise as better than no exercise at all.
If anyone out there would like some help - lots of books giving "10 Minute Yoga/Pilates." If you belong to a gym which offers these classes, attend a couple (they are all basic and repetitive as they have to cater for "newbies

) and then set aside 10 minutes per day to do whichever you are most comfortable with.
We try to pass on whatever we learn from the experts from all the mags - plus some of our own experiences. We hope we pass on useful stuff from all the rags and our own experiences from trying out that advice too.
As it stands - I find very few faults with health/training articles in either CW or C+.

I read IG's copies as he subscribes and he lives nearest to me of entire family anyway.

I buy the "Enjoy Your Bike" rag. I think the bees knees for a family.

leisure cyclists
Sorry that I'm one of them "leisure" cyclists who just does the odd charity ride for fun as much as "charitable intentions"
Cannot commute. Sorry but it's just not viable to me and my wife. (who would struggle health wise really
really ) Would cost us more to move house than it's worth long term. Besides I happen to like the home lifestyle we created for our particular family and personal needs.
The electrolyte replacement drinks are ideal and old fashioned Tonic Water with a twist of lemon to taste also helps if drunk regularly.
