Again I stress - please do buy this month's issue for reference. It is perhaps the "meatiest" for some time - though both CW and C+ carry excellent reviews on what to look for when buying a bike - and each review different makes and models But for all the issues over the internet chatroom and known deranged trolls and idiots on there - the magazine itself has much to offer this month and I can only say WELL DONE |:bow: to the new editor.

But to return to this piece.. you should as stated be doing the glance backs 1`00m (33 ft) from your intended right turn on the bikes.

Richard suggests a mirror (a suggestion derided when LLS (one of Willi's (Speeder if Only's) pals) suggested this on C+ forum once upon a time in the past )



But whether you glance over the shoulder or in a mirror - you identify a gap and SIGNAL your intention to move to the right - to around 1 m 3 foot from teh centre line and per Richard Peace.. you should keep on looking for oncoming traffic with a view to increase your safety margin.

Use the primary position if you can.. or be just left of thje centre line. If really busy and no choice.. you pull into the kerb and wait for a gap.

Once you tirn right successfully .. take the lane .. keep in the primary until out of danger when you gradually smooth yourself into a secondary position and smile and nod at the driver you negotiated your deal with to ensure "good feelings for all!" :wnk:

I add a bit of my own opinion to Richard Peaces's very excellent article in Cycling Plus MAGAZINE which is a completely different medium from its "forum".

I think Future and C+ staff must lurk on here given the "internet warfare" at times

I make it plain that the magazine is not the same as the chat room which appears to attract the insane and would encourage folk to buy the magazine which is now publishing the gem "keep for eternity" articles such as this one as well as extremely useful reviews of the latest bikes and toys for the serious cyclist who loves the thrill of speed, handling and skill just as much as the motoring enthusiast will be in harmony with his/her car and be SAFE as well
