Heres me sitting here smiling away thinking ive got away with my little jaunt down the m25 on 20th November but oh no, got my summons through last week.....
I have spoken to one of these firms that deal with speeding who want around 2k to help which seems a tad excessive they said over the phone its "probable" that they could get it down to a 3-6points and a fine as the only way the police where judging my speed was looking at there taco in the car and for that they need to prove they was a constant distance behind the car etc etc.
To be honest i accept that I was speeding, but as I need the car for my job I was a bit silly and going a little too fast. Just dont fancy being without a car for 6months.
They had followed me for 2miles and clocked speeds of around 100mph, then through a temp 40mph zone when I slowed down "at the last minute" and then after accerlated again to what they say was around 110-120mph.
My problem is this.....
In the coppers statement he mentions that on exiting the bell common tunnel (m25) they followed me for 3/4 of a mile, my speed managed to reach between 110-120mph. Having just gone through a temp 40mph zone.
My car is a 2.0 tdci mondeo and having gone down the M2 today I had a little test, there is no way in hell the car can get from 40mph to 110mph in 3/4 of a mile, so im asking who can I get as a valid witness to disprove this? or could a solicitor put the case forward without me getting a expert witness for this?.
Am I going down the wrong alley should I just accept it, get a letter from my boss and be very very sorry?
Thank you!
Mark
