Ok, so I get a letter through the post saying I was doing 40mph in a 30 zone last week. This is on a road I use everyday to get to work. There are no speed cameras on this road and no warnings.

I didnt see any police/lazer on the day in question. I thought if it was a policeman with a lazor detector they had to pull you up there and then?

Im just annoyed as there are no camera's and I didnt see anyone or know anything about it untill the letter.

Is there anything I can do?

Any help would be much appreciated

In theory the opinion two police officers walking along the road would be enough evidence to prosecute you.

There should at least 1 warning sign en route to the camera, you may have been unfortunate enough to have taken a different route to the cam.


Nope. The offence can be captured on video/film for later use when they serve their ‘demand with menaces’.
