Recently received a court order for not replying to a speeding fine that I never received

Initially thought easiest just to plead guilty even though I didn't get the penalty notice (thank you royal mail!) but as I'm a bit of a stubborn idiot have decided to go to court.

Just getting last minute jitters as someone told me the fine could be upto £1000

Not being done for speeding but for not telling them who was driving.

Anyone got any experience in this and can calm me down before I plead guilty for something I didn't do!

You could just possibly be onto a winner there. Have they summonsed you for S172 only?

I don't see how a court should convict someone who never received the paperwork. But that's no guarantee.

Usually they send reminders. Didn't you get those either? Perhaps they were sending them to a wrong address or something? If you found that out, then I think you could expect to win.
