Got flash this morning.

It was the camera on the A1 going down the hill to the Gonnerby Moor roundabout near Grantham.

The camera was in the "lowered" postion, I assumed (presumption being the mother of all f^&kups) that it was down for maintenance, but it flashed me anyway. I have my doubts it could see my number plate over the top of the safety barrier.

What are my chances of getting busted for this one?

Not a question, but it depends on whether you were actually speeding!
A flash is not an automatic indicator of excess speed.

As to the position of the camera, if it was down for maintenance, I would have expected to see a van nearby.
You should know for certain in a week or so, no point in worrying until then.
Let us know what happens, and keep coming back and posting - you can learn a lot about safer motoring here, and a lot of other subjects too!!

:welcome:

Yes I was speeding, no excuse but there was an emergency at work it was early and the road was clear. I assumed the camera was broken  .

Its been like that for about a week, so with any luck they are waiting for parts. I asked a colleague to have a look when he went past later and he thinks it would be unlikely the camera would be able to see my number plate over the top of the safety barrier.

If that is the case, then you have had a lucky escape!

You are of course still welcome to join in the discussions here! :)
