You know, f** it, I'm outta here to hire the services of an expert solicitor.

I'm f****d if I'm going to give in to this NIP.

Also, it's bloody obvious that going by the responses I've had that these forums were put together by old-bill and their scam camera partnerships.

That's right, everybody lie down and take it like good old Brits. Whatever happened to a bit of anarchy? Hasn’t anyone got the guts to stand up and fight for your frigging rights.

Maybe I’ll start up a website called “countdown to the death of the speed camera”.

I will get everybody to sign up saying that from 1st Jan 2007 they agree never to pay another speed camera or talivan fine again.

If I spread the word I’m sure between now and then I could get a few million people to sign up for the scheme. What will they do then when they find that at least two thirds of their NIPs are not getting responses, take 3 million drivers to court; I don’t think so.

I’m going to start researching this a little as with my web skills it would take all of 3 days to get this up and running.

I figured if everybody who signs up and agrees, if they see that thousands of others have then they can rest assured that thousands, perhaps millions of others are not going to pay again either. Then, by the end of 2007 the cameras will come down and the government can put up the income tax rate, which would be fair, that way everybody has to cough up and not just those who rely on cars to get to and from work.

Watch this space, you heard it hear first.

sanitised. RP

take a chill pill steve55,

the majority of people who post in here are against the excessive use of cameras in road safety, me i put my personal / work views across with regard to the equipment / the things i see on a day to day basis,

sometimesmy views are welcomed sometimes they are not

Taking 55 at his word (ie "outa here"), would anyone like me to trawl through and asterisk out the F words? I really think that language detracts when used with such gratuity.

The only person who could help charges more than your license is worth!

You don’t know how wrong you are.

I think you’ll find you’ve been given only good advice (old-bill, scam or otherwise). Four speeding NIPs in 9 weeks would have made the average driver think twice (or three or even four times). However, I previously declined to pass comment on this as I didn’t know the circumstances.

Which is why :ss: exists. The :ss: campaign has been largely responsible for the slowing rate of uptake of automated speed enforcement and the turn of public opinion.

Would it be in the interest of the :ss: campaign to distance ourselves from this?

The government are not doing this for the money!

And had they been caught several times for these technical offences, and then banned from driving, with all the associated difficulties, they may well be inclined to get a bit angry about it.

However, having read Steve55's more recent postings I would like to add that it is preferable to stick to the debating points, and bear in mind that this is a public internet forum. I do not feel that the swearing is necessary or desired.

Noting the sentiment of the posts that followed and received PMs, I've done this.

You're absolutely correct, they won't... Instead they'll just put you and your first couple of hundred "supporters" into court, which after receiving "revised sentencing guidelines" will find you guilty, fine you £2500 and give you 4 points per offence - and give it plenty of publicity.

Your project would collapse like a house of cards.

The only way to get change is through rational debate and pressure. SafeSpeed is a serious road safety campaign, not a mutual support group for reckless drivers!

Actually Roger - wouldn't a warning at the first use of this sort of language be more appropriate ??I ,and i think others use *** to give the meaning without the filth, and afford some modicum of decency to any lady posters - or perhaps i'm being old fashioned

Good to see that you think all foul language should be banned in case it offends anyone

The volley of gutter language had all occurred between my visits. Had I seen the first post before it had been fuelled further by quoting extracts and further hurls I'd have tried the friendly warning shots. Sadly too **** late!
