ABSOLUTELY 100% NOT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY  :

One of my friends (himself a rather humdrum driver) once started the argument - in a pub, amazingly - that if you could successfully pass your driving test after, say, three pints of beer, that you were then legally allowed to drive that drunk.

His argument being that some sober drivers drive worse than some drunks, who get away with it for years, and yet they managed to pass their test. Presumably therefore, habitual drink-drivers would theoretically be able to pass their test.

Needless to say, he was argued down vigorously.

It did start a signage argument about how this variable alcohol level could be represented. A line of pint icons on the back of your car was my favourite.

SERIOUSLY NOW :x :

My limit would be (and is) one weak pint. Any more than that (which I have very rarely done, and long ago) and I can feel myself driving worse; I don't care what the legal limit is.

Speaking logically, I agree with your mate. But whether such a person exists, of course, is a different matter...

Now that would make a "good" TV show...
"Drunk Driving Test"
Soon to be followed by "Celebrety Drunk Driving Test" :|

I imagine driving when drunk would be in some ways similar to driving when tired. And there's no way to measure tiredness. But then I've never been drunk so I wouldn't know.

It's like being tired but also emotional (sorry, but I couldn't resist)

Try driving when tired and playing really emotional music on the stereo.

When I put it like that, why do I drink?
