All employees ( civilian and police) should have to have a logo on their numberplates for enforcement action. In the event of speeding charges being brought, they accept a double penalty as they must practice what they preach - i.e -£120+ 6 points
Seem fair - they profit from speeders, lets see how they fair when their jobs are in jepordy.

I disagree with regards to the police.

But I think all civilian employees of the pratnerships should be shunned by friends and family, barred from local pubs and shops and generally treat as social outcasts.

Oh for goodness sake, this is playground logic I'm afraid.
It would actually make more sense to suggest that they are given, say, a warning for a first offence and then loss of job after second on the grounds of 'conflict of interest'.

Yep the principal is Biblical. Those who are in a position to judge others should themselves be judged more harshly.

Or something to that effect.

“Judge not, that you be not judged... etc.”

Matthew 7 v 1

Jesus to his disciples

Sermon on t' Mount

Try telling that to the judge.... 8-)

James 3:1 says, "My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation."

There is no doubt in my mind that any employee of the 'safety' partnerships caught exceeding the speed limit should be dismissed.

Obviously there are matters of unfair dismissal and so on, and no doubt their current contracts would not cater for this, but there should be strictly defined disciplinary codes for those new employees breaching traffic laws.

This would obviously extend to all staff including the holier than thou official spokesmen who dish out such advice as '.....there really is one way not to get caught.....don't speed'

Its hard to see how anyone can complain. Particularly those employees and pro camera motorists who spout the usual....'I don't speed because its against the law' nonsense. You want to work for a partnership? these are the rules, you break them and you're gone!

I don't think they should face stiffer penalties or suffer any more than anyone else. They are just as likely to be wrongly accused of breaking the limit as we are. We also know that breaking the speed limit isn't inherently dangerous, but unsafe driving certainly is.

I don't care who you are or what you do, getting an NIP when you weren't doing anything to increase the risk of hurting someone is unfair. I would be happy to welcome any scamera staff into the fold if they were confronted with the fallacy of their employer's outlook.

Whether I would micturate on one of the unconverted types if they were alight is a different matter...

It is certainly the case - and rightly in my view - that police officers are much more at risk of losing their jobs for minor criminal convictions (whether motoring or not) than the general public.

I agree with that. The people who have responsibility for enforcing the law should be seen to be complying with it and this entails a higher level of adherence than the general public.

like parking scam tax collectors, who travel to the office then change into their uniform and live a double life not telling anyone what they really do for a living.

what a way to live.
