Having been recently nicked on the bike by an LTI 20.20 and reading in Motor Cycle News that this gun is being challenged in January 2007 as having no type-approval for use against bikes..how about a mass tort if it succeeds ? I wonder how many thousands of bikers have been nicked with this gun ? And it wouldn't be difficult to find out using Freedom of Information. All it'd need is a lawyer to oversee it. What do you think ?

Good luck - don't set too much store by what you read in MCN though..

It's an interesting idea, but not something to go into lightly.

First you would need to determine exactly what the damages are.

Secondly you would need to determine costs and likelihood of success, bearing in mind that the authorities have access to unlimited legal expertise.

Thirdly you would need to finance the action, possibly by building a 'class'.

It's all a bit beyond me, I'm afraid.
