4 months of the year to go and they are already nearly past the 2005 fatal total, but hey who cares about fatals as its all about KSI !!!

Wonder what spin they will put on these shameful figures

"Residents of Cumbria CSCP has been in existence for nearly 4 years and we have reduced fatal accidents on your streets by bugger all, but the strategy is working !! If we leave the grieving children to one side whose dad has just been killed on the M6, we are proud to announce that there has been a 40% reduction in broken fingers, bruised elbows and sprained ankles. Working in partnership we have robbed you of millions of pounds to ensure that the people of Cumbria can continue to type on there computers, unhindered by the burden of broken fingers. Fatals from now on will be buried in the KSI figures in a blind panic to try and make people not notice them"

Steve was last seen climbing on board a nuclear sub, threatening extreme action if the stubborn residents of Cumbria refused to stop dying on the roads, to coin an old phrase "The medicine is not working, double the medicine nurse"

It was on the radio news today - we have exceeded last years total - it's now at 46 deaths so far this year.

I dont particularly feel like rejoicing - tomorrow, the mother of the lad killed in February on Bannerigg, is coming to see me to pick up a memorial.
Over a year before his death, I provoked the CSCP into surveying speeds there - the result being "no excess speed, so nothing CSCP can do about it".

I have little doubt she will be reassured by their continuing presence at Ings, every time she passes by!

I know - and to think they got the July figure out in just a few days!
Of course now they have exceeded last years total, they will have no enthusiasm for showing how crap the figures are!

If the effect of speed cameras persists, then it didn't help this London motorist on Bannerigg sometime between 7.00 pm Saturday, and midday Sunday! :o Good job there was nobody on the cycle/footpath at the time, given it was a busy weekend!

Finally - the September figures show that last years total fatalities HAS been surpassed!

45 fatals so far... but they HAVE managed to raise a lot of money for the government, and paid themselves a decent wage.

Oh, and did you know the most common car blipped was the Ford Mondeo LX? That came courtesy of the Statistical Department - apparently according to the publicity department, regarded as being one of the best in the country for accuracy! :o

What a shame they are so crap at reducing fatalities! :x

Yes but remember we will just bullshit away the figures amongst all the broken finger nails and bruised knees.

I wonder what they will award themselves as a pay rise next year, I bet its more than i will get, and I haven't killed anyone in my life.

Scumbags !!

With all the evidence as to their abject failure now so obvious, it does make one wonder how, in all concience, they can carry on.
The really key figure of 'fatals' is up, the now circulated official report showing only c.4% of accidents as involving vehicles which were in excess of the posted speed limit, the various independent polls which show between 80% and 92% of respondents believe the cameras are there just to make money, and the general reaction (see the M.o.S.) of certain senior ex-police officers who are now nicely 'settled' in lucrative jobs within the camera-sales industry have all combined to show what a real 'heap of s**t' the entire cash-camera scheme now is.
How can individuals who would claim to be honest and to have integrity go to work every day in a Camera Pratnership and take a salary for spreading the lies, spin, obfuscation, misery and unhappiness as they do.
'Brothel-keeper or 'pimp'' would be a much more honest occupation than 'Speed Camera Pratnership employee'.
Just what sort of people are they?

What is bizarre is that "exceeding the limit" is listed MORE often in fatal accidents than non-fatals.

Why is that bizarre? Nutters drive like nutters and have fatal smashes because of it.

It's bizarre because if the cameras worked they would have more of an impact on the fatals than the serious crashes, when this is not happening :)

In CSCP's case more people were killed in the 3 years after they started in business than the 3 years before - at their monitored sites

Proof if ever the scams arent saving lives, certainly not in Cumbria.

Strangely enough, I've yet to see CSCP make this statistic public

Great thing this Freedom of Information thing :D

That's why the Government wish to curtail the scope of the Act - too many didgy facts coming to light!

Have the local papers had this brought to their attention?
