I have not seen one of there vans for ages, am I just lucky or have they really cut back there activity?

My other half has also commented that she has not seen them lately.

Is this a breather or a lull in zapping

They're concentrating on the hot spots - such as Ings at weekends when the tourist traffic is highest.
They missed the Cumberland Gap on the day of the last accident - a bit hit and miss, as that stretch of road could really use some improvements in safety.

I travel pass 4 CSCP sites every day and in the last 7 months have only seen a van twice, seems these guys don't like working outside 9-5.

A CSCP Ad in todays Westmorland Gazette states there were 40 serious injuries in February but looking on there website they state 43 !!

Plenty of tourists to fleece at the moment so they can start at 10 and knock off at 2 I imagine. When the winter comes they'll be needing your money again.... If they are still operating.

They were supposed to be on the A591 (Ings?) yesterday. They were'nt there when I went to work, nor when I came home! Maybe they were at Thirlmere! Plenty of tourists though - it's Windermere Festival week. Red Arrows, a Hawek jet on the Glebe etc.etc. so lots of potential earning power!

Just reading the local Grange Now newsletter, there is an article in there about the CSCP bay that was created for them. The local bobby says he had "no idea it was there" clearly designed for a life in CID with those observation skills.

But he said this would now be removed and returned to public parking.

Scratch another site of your list boys

I wouldn't go speeding past it yet.
We were asked if we would consider removing the marked bay so it could be used for parking when we were not there. Well we considered it for about a milli second. When we want to use it we get the local bobby to cone it off.
You can't say fairer than that!

I NEVER speed past it, my other half is in Grange an awful lot, and she has never seen you there. As a serious question to you JJ when where you last monitoring in Grange? and when will you next be there?

Clearly a searching and tough question, must be longer than I thought.

Will your van have tinsle on it the next time it visits?

It's the B5277 isnt it at Grange?

No sign of it on this week's or next week's schedules - obviously not lucrative enough

The award for most appropriately named Talivan site has to be the A6 Thiefside

To many pensioners perhaps?
Maybe they should look at the causes of the accidents there - maybe they were due to heart attacks at the wheel?

Wildy :neko: remarked on the tourist honey trap last year - cat fight resulted  Claws stuck well in! He did not appear on PH for ages afterwards...

Of course - we only see the vans at where they will rake in more cash from tourists. Most of the locals already know these roads to be past police haunts for a speeding ticket. No one ever recalls an accident though!

I'll put the flat cap on order then, but you'll have to make do with a secondhand Rover, unless you can wait for the Slitty Eyed [according to HRH Prince Philip] version - it will be just like driving during the blitz!! :D

Just past Rydal Garage on the A59 - a warning sign - Watch Out for BLIND people.... and a SPEED CAMERA! I always think those blind people are taking their lives in their hands if they try and cross near the camera!

Well over a week since my original post, 1348 miles travelled this week, and still no sightings of the CSCP team.
