Just went to look up the latest statistics on the CSCP web site - http://\\www.cumbriasafetycameras.org/ and got the STOP - THIS IS AN ATTACK SITE message!

When I clicked "ignore this warning" it displays a message saying the site is being updated.

That'll be a first - the news section hasn't been updated since 2007!

Anyway, "BADWARE" advice says:
Quote:
This isn't an attack site... or is it?

Every day, thousands of websites are tricked into delivering badware to their visitors. Thousands more are set up specifically for malicious purposes.

Firefox warns you about these "attack sites" so you can avoid them and keep badware off your computer.

This information is provided by StopBadware, a non-profit organization that works with its partners, like Google and Mozilla (the creators of Firefox), to fight computer viruses, spyware, and other badware.

Maybe they are finally getting their cumuppence for publishing those dodgy survey results!!! :D

Admin - have disabled the link - remove the '\\' if you wish to check this out for yourself. Just to be on the really safe side.

The site has been restored - but the November figures still are not available!

However, if you go to the main WELCOME page, click on the "NEW FoI Act Publication Scheme" link, it takes you to a page - at the bottom of which is another link "Cumbria Safety Cameras Freedom of Information Act Publication Scheme" which takes you to THIS page.

Quite why they felt it necessary to bury this page so that casual visitors who had no interest in FoI requests would never see it is beyond me!

In it, the partnership (ignoring the efforts of the Air Ambulance Service, the Paramedics, and improvements in in car safety systems) claim:
Quote:
With the ending of DfT control in 2007, Cumbria Safety Cameras introduced Random Road Watch, a route-based, operate-anywhere strategy which increased the number of sites monitored by the mobile cameras to more than 200. As a result of this killed or serious injury casualties were substantially reduced and the county came in under the Government’s 2010 target three years early and in line with a predicted 35% drop in fatalities.

I wonder if they predicted the present bounce and INCREASE in fatal casualties?
