...several year late!

The ridiculous cycle lanes at Waterhead remain, but the absurd and widely ignored 20mph speed limit is to go - as is the 30 mph limit from Waterhead to Briery Lodge.

The 20 is to become 30, while the 30 will become 40 mph - which as it mainly runs through a series of tight bends following the lake shore, is the maximum even spirited drivers manage until they reach the Low Wood Hotel.
However, in a momentary erturn to lunacy, the present NSL from Briery Lodge to Troutbeck Bridge is to be reduced to 50mph, effectively reducing the speeds still further, as drivers choose to stay well below the limit in case they encounter enforcement.
The real lunatics who break the present 60mph limit at night, will of course continue to do so. :(

Good news generally! Those cycle lanes were ridiculous  :roll:Last year I was tailgated and then dangerously overtaken due to complying with the 20 limit between Waterhead and Ambleside - slower speeds safe lives ... :?
