Today the Talivan was sat watching the westbound traffic - much of which was already at the speed limit when I passed the other way with my lights flashing - must get that bulb fixed!

However, coming home tonight, there was scaffolding around the camera, two vans, and a laptop sat on the hardware box alongside, so I parked up safely and went for a look inside!

While I was talking to the very helpful engineer, a number of drivers tooted their horns - about half a dozen in the few minutes I was there.
The engineer said it was their fan club!!
He went on to say he was not surprised they were irate!!

At least his hotel in Bowness (Best Western) was better than the one he had stopped in while in London, AND half the price.

What a shame he is so hard up that he has to take a job with the Speed camera people!

It appears they were there to make the posts TALLER. Maybe that will cure some of the lens flare!

Saw the results of all that work this morning - the cameras are now angled down at a much greater angle - presumably to give a better look at the secondary check stripes! :)
However as a side effect, the cameras are harder to see, and if you wished to place a car tyre over one, you'd need a ladder now! :P

Yet more work on the cameras and control box last night - the engineer was shimmying up the ladder to look in the camera, while his colleague had the control box open.
A welcome distraction to traffic just as the pub was closing - there were no warning signs, lights or cones, just the sudden alarming sight of the reflective stripes on their hi-vis jackets when they got caught in the headlights - 10 feet above the road!
It's no wonder there are accidents in road works if they behave like these clowns!! Their actions were more likely to distract motorists than the cameras!

Another side effect is that the Silverkrin keeps the hair looking nicer on the number plate logos ...
