Just think how nice it would be if we could take these posts at face value instead of having to wonder whether it's a troll. I bet the Knitting Monthly forum doesn't have that problem; what can we do to become more like them (assuming they actually exist)?

Ah but those crochet bods can be vicious bastards

It does seem a bit strange that the OP hasn't replied. Either it's trolling or it's a little rude. I suppose anyone who wants to find out for sure could probably ascertain whether there's anyone called Louise Gibson at that university.

I did just that some time ago - and found her.
I emailed her to ask about her lack of response, I got a reply containing only my original message - most strange. I left it at that.

i got a pm here saying that competant drivers are welcome too. i assumed she contacted individuals via the same way :)

Yeah, something odd. I go to Glasgow a lot so I volunteered. I turned up at the appointed hour to find the place completely deserted. She does appear to exist though - there was a mugshot on the departmental noticeboard. Anyway, I hung round for 20 minutes or so and went home. When I got back, there was an e-mail from her saying she was sorry but something had come up...

...haven't heard anything since!

Bizarre. Either we have a continued lack of organisation/commucation, or some strange individual is going to an awful lot of trouble to wind us up in a not particularly clever way.

Probably the former. Ms Gibson won't be getting a first at this rate!

(If the latter, they could at least have arranged for you to turn up at an "anti-speeding" seminar or something....)

A flaky student? That's a first!

No offence intended if Louise is reading, I was a grade-a flaky student way back when!
