what are the chances of that job being offered to someone who would make the decision of either getting rid of the scameras or ripping all the tickets up?

A couple of years ago I recived a NIP, challenged it and asked for photographic evidence. (allegedly 82 in a 70)

The photos were of poor quality and the driver couldn't be be identified so I asked to see the video.

went into the belly of the beast the Scamera HQ in SW Police HQ. The video was extremely poor and despite the best efforts of the admin staff they could not provide me with sufficient evedence for me to identify the driver.

They even asked if I could provide a list of insured drivers, when i pointed out that anyone could drive the car on their own insurance....the decision manager was called for!!!! I even said that if two out of three of them could identfy me as the driver from the evidence then I would write them the cheque there and then.

I was expecting a judge dread type figue but no, a non descript man in farrah trousers and crumbs on his sweater! Gave me the standard speil about section 172 etc etc.

I wrote to them saying that I believed that I had done everything reasonable to identify the driver when requiested by the chief constable including taking time of work to specifically go to see the video. I aslo asked them if they could advise me as to any further methods I could employ to identify this alleged offender.

Two years on......still waiting from the reply.

Well worth a morning off I reckon!
