£5m in fines for speeding through roadworks

UK motorists paid more than £5m in fines last year for speeding through motorway roadworks according to a recent survey.

The M2 in Kent caught the most drivers, a total of 16,978.

Paul Smith of Safe Speed said: “These figures are an outrage. The best science we have says that speed cameras increase crashes and crash severity in motorway roadworks.”
