Nervous TV presenter spared ban

Lucy Cohen, 33, a television newsreader who works for ITV Wales in Cardiff, was spared a driving ban after telling magistrates that she felt vulnerable leaving work late at night and needed a car because she had received death threats from a stalker.

Ms Cohen had clocked up 12 points on her licence after being caught on speed cameras and was fined £100 with £35 costs. Magistrates in Barry, South Glamorganshire, said that 'exceptional circumstances' prevailed.
