Sorry is this sounds politicial but this guy is a w*nker quoting non-sensical, made-up-on-the-spot statistics.

Why don't we write to them and ask where the figures came from..

Speed camera delays condemned

One person is dying every two days because of a delay approving hundreds of new speed cameras across Britain, it was claimed last week. Tom Brake, the Liberal Democrats' transport spokesman, said the decision to put all new fixed and mobile camera sites on hold in June has led to around 60 deaths that could have been avoided, writes Juliette Jowit, Transport Editor. Transport Minister Stephen Ladyman has refused to approve applications to install new cameras while the department for transport waits for an independent review of the policy. The delay has left nearly 500 applications on hold - which means that, with an estimated one life saved each year by every three cameras, 14 people a month are dying needlessly, claims Brake.

Sounds like the man's as inumerate as the "Road Safety" group...

Hmmm.. 1 life saved per 3 cameras per annum... So... We've had some 6,000 cameras for the last couple of years, so that's 2,000 lives saved each year; simple arithmetic tells us therefore, that by now people should be springing spontaneously into existance at the rate of 500 this year, 2,500 next, etc.

Bl**dy Hell!! We're going to have a population explosion!!

Not the first time they have screwed up on the statistics. Remember the 4x4 fiasco where most of the cars on their "hit list" were not even available in the UK......they are tossers. They should try and do their own reaserch rather than cut-n-past...

If only they stopped bandwagon jumping they may make a credible party.
