Oh that's really quite funny! I see he was sufficiently deluded to think that "ignorance of the law" might have been some kind of credible defence too! I hope he sails back past Somalia to sort out those pirates on his way home

I'd have thought that article would at least have listed the dramatic fall in KSIs as a result of his zero tolerance on speeding policies among his most notable achievements!

Hang on; I had to re-read that. :?

Our tax disc displays when it expires, just like theirs does, but he thought it was when it started :? What complete and utter BS!!! You're more likely to get confused if it were different to our system, not the same you stinkin' filthy llying gonk!

Okay, I have a confession.. When I was in France last year I got pulled over for speeding. Yes, it's true. I thought 130KMh was the minimum limit because that's how it works over here, right?

You will be branded a threat to society by going over a speed limit where it is safe to do so, and suffer the consequences of your actions in a way criminals do not, more so than someone who is a real threat to our society.

Hang on guys, lets have some sympathy. He thinks a tax disc starts on expiry date. Could this be the start of some senile affliction, due to an overdose of speeding mentality. Perhaps best to send him off to have his senility checked out, and in the meantime, his licence removed.Perhaps then he might understand the plight of those who lost their licence and job for minor transgressions.

Nice one Dave :D

As always, it's the hypocrisy which sticks in my craw.

Med Hughes = hypocrite for example.

I do it, you do it, everyone does it. So the more important question is, or should be, who are doing it unsafely?

"Is he going to bring up insurance companys again?"

If you want to get the answer to this most important matter on road safety, why not ask motor insurance businesses...?

"Because it doesn't sit well with wot 'they', the Government, want you to believe!"

Hmmm.... Yes, I know.

Nice that those same insurance people have brought the cost down now because they are kicking back on BS whiplash claims.

Yep to site that we have a start system is really odd and certainly sounds like 'an excuse' along with the "ignorance of the law" he must have known it wasn't legal. However he was entitled to his day in Court. I cannot see what the 11:30 at night was about. The time making a difference on the 'need' for a tax disc perhaps ? Due to little traffic?
If he's been cruising the World in his boat since sometime in 2010 then maybe the sea air has fogged his brain!
To think that he was on £120K and performing so badly, is a disgrace. We need more Police behaviour being considered by a very very independent body.
He sails off into the sunset leaving in his wake, woe and misery.
