A HIT and run driver who had been banned three times has been jailed for eight years after killing a mother-of-four in a horrific road crash.
Devon Pinnock raced at speeds of up to 100mph and drove through red lights as he showed off to friends just moments before he ploughed into Tina Boucher's car, a court heard.
Police later described the scene as looking as if a bomb had gone off.
Mrs Boucher, a 38-year-old psychiatric nurse, from Levenshulme, died instantly.
Her six-year-old son, Martin, was in the passenger seat when their car was hit on Burnage Lane, near the junction with Mauldeth Road, Burnage.
Two other passengers, 31-year-old Alan Butterworth and 36-year-old Lisa Williams, were thrown out of the back of the Citroen Saxo as it was propelled into the air by the head-on collision.
They suffered lasting brain and spinal injuries.
Pinnock, 21, of Meldon Road, Longsight, fled the scene with friends before handing himself in and being arrested three days later, Manchester Crown Court heard at his sentencing this morning. As he was arrested he said `it wasn't my fault', the judge was told.

He was banned.. thus not legal.. not insured.. and in an unregistered car .. He drove at an UNSAFE speed. He drove into them when he lost control.
Whose fault was it .. Oh,.. someone else's of course. I suppose his mates made him drive the car too despite being BANNED already
We all pay for this type.. with speed cams.. high premiums to cover their refusal to pay this too..

Oh.. it was the magistrate's fault. Now that I would agree with. He should have locked him up back in January.

Unfortunately .. he will be out in less than half the time and somehow I think a 12 year ban will just not stop him from doing it again. I have to say . I would consider chucking away the key on this one.
OK so he's only 21 ... but unless he gets some serious education .. I fear we will read of his next incident on his release.

It was an unmarked car. The one von keeps telling us is "better than a marked one" over the road on PH.
It is a tough call because this kid would have continued whether the stealth mobile pursuing or not. He did not crash because the police was chasing him. He crashed because he was an arrogant, pea-brained fool.
Who did not have the courage to face what he had done in the immediate aftermath . which might just have been the needed learning curve for his future.

Pah.. flowers. I would havethought more of him if he had placed them there himself.
OK .. so he handed himself in a couple of days later.. but only because he knew his DNA would be in that car. It was not really an act of conscience. It was reckoning on a lesser sentence given his "form". We are not so innocent as to be fooled by this.

I know and understand completely how they feel. I am angry at reading this story. You cannot blame the police in the stealth mobile . they were trying to reign him in yet again.
My condolences to this family should they hit on this site . as they may do.
