DRIVERS FAILING TO CHECK BRAKES

Many motorists drive with faulty brakes because they do not check them frequently enough, a new survey has revealed. Nearly three in five drivers rely solely on their annual service for brake checks and many have no idea of the real state of their brakes.

Yet more than four in five were confident their brakes were in good working order, the poll from national road safety charity Brake and Green Flag Assistance found.
