Speeder pic faker is caged
A STUDENT was jailed for three months for trying to avoid a £60 speeding fine by sending a doctored picture of his car to police.
A speed camera caught Saif-U-Rehman Shafiq, 21, doing 39mph along a 30mph Manchester road.
Police wrote to him saying they intended to prosecute and enclosed a picture from the Gatso showing Shafiq’s black Honda Civic.
But rather than pay a £60 fine and get three penalty points he said the car was not his.
He backed up his lie with a picture of what he said was his vehicle, another black Honda Civic, although a slightly different model.
Shafiq used a computer to superimpose his registration number. But police noticed the plate was too big for the car.
The tearful IT and business student admitted perverting the course of justice at Manchester Crown Court.
Another criminal caged

and what happened when a ticket office worker tampered with a photo showing dates on a parking ticket sign? I don’t think he/she was sent to prison for perverting the course of justice.
