Fine idea to curb wardens

A TWO-tier system of parking fines will be unveiled this week to curb heavy-handed parking attendants.

Motorists who overstay by a few minutes will get a smaller penalty than those who stop on double yellow lines.

Drivers should also get more help to challenge wardens who dish out tickets unfairly, say MPs.

Ministers are expected to adopt both measures when they overhaul parking laws next month.

A transport department official said: “We see this as an opportunity to make it consistent and fair.”

It follows anger over an increase in the number of fixed penalty fines.
Over-zealous wardens have ticketed hearses, ambulances and the scooter of a man being treated after an accident.

The Commons Transport Committee found the number issued had soared since the 1990s.

Last year Westminster council made £38million profit, mostly on meters.

Chemical or physical castration, just like any other wandering agressive dog ?

What really worries me is that all that will happen is that these cretins will bang a ticket on, then smack another on so the total will be bigger.

Or am I just being very cynical ???

If they really wanted to do something, take it away from private companies that are doing this not to ease congestion but to earn bloody good money, but I can't ever see that happening.

CYNICAL - NON - aware -- mais yes

nt castration - sugest a suspended sentance - but from what , cerpently not the neck, just below the waist(where the brains reside, making sure that both sperical objects were encased ) would be better.

If by repairs you mean bus lanes, speed bumps and road closures, then yes.
