Hi all,
Apologies for the blatant sponsorship request (ok actually I'm not sorry at all) but feel free to stop reading now.

As you probably will not have gathered (this being a driving site) I am training for this event at the end of May.

A nice run down the canal? well perhaps, the Grand union Canal race follows the canal from Birmingham to London, 145miles in total. Starting at 6am on the 27th of May the overall cut off time is 45hours meaning in the worst case I could be going until 3am on the Monday (but I really hope not!). Completion is by no means gaurunteed, its a big challenge and a long time for things to go wrong.

Being my greatest running challenge yet I have decided to raise money for a local (to me!) charity. Broadview care provide residential and day care services for people with learning disabilities in the City of Coventry (where I happen to live).

I am getting in contact with a number of local and national companies to secure some corporate sponsorship, and will be organising a couple of 'guess the finish time' competitions in order to raise money.. unfortunately that format won't work terribly well on here.

So all I can offer is if you want to make a personal donation toward my fairly modest £1000 target visit my fundraising site at:
http://www.justgiving.com/ed_m

Or if you own or work for a company who may be interested in sponsoring me please get in touch.

Cheers

And if you want to use this topic to ask questions like why? and how? etc. or just to question my sanity.. feel free.

Ed
