This is a question to The Sensible Majority, others please refrain from answering

" At what speed does travelling in a car become unsafe?"

Have also asked on a nother thread but have had no answer, given your 'facts' regards road safety and speed. Have you had any further training or testing bar the standard driving test?

Your silence is deafening !!!

From questions and opinions from others might i also ask TSM

"Do you hold, or are you old enough to hold a licence (even a moped one)"

Have plucked this from another thread - TSM posted on Sat Apr 29, 2006 9:16 am.

So it would appear reasonable to assume that he has seen this thread.

If I might respectfully suggest that he not be allowed to create any more threads or make any more posts until he has given a straight answer to at least Patch's question ???

The software does not provide for such restrictions to be enforced automatically.

not taking sides, this post was intended for TSM, he or she is brave enough to post (been there done that, got the t shirt) TSM's views are obviously different (as are mine) to the majority, but IMO if SS is to recognised as a geniune road safety campaign (and dare i say not just pro speed / anti camera ) then the views of the majority and the minority need to be observed.

believe me there are many posts on here i want to respond to but deep down i think what is the point (philosophical tonight or what !!)

Camera Operator, there is a fundamental difference between yo and TSM, you don't throw challenges at other posters and then stop posting on a thread and bugger off to start a new thread when challenged on a point.

Some of your responses have been quite thought provoking and whilst I don't agree with all you say am prepared to read your posts with respect as you are prepared to stand your ground.

Cam Op,
there's a great deal of difference between participating in an open and considered discussion and plain old trolling

I think the question is quite clear as to what sort of vehicle is refferred to, and it definately ain't a pedestrian.

Hmm- old sales technique -- when asked a question you have no ready answer to - respond with question - looks good till questioner know about the technique.

For each of the above will do.

The question was posed to you at 10:00pm on the 28th.
You made 9 posts in the following 40 minutes and more the day after; that could reasonably be interpreted as evading the question.

No clarification of the question sorry, you name your speed and then give your reasons.

That's a bit unfair, I mean,
Quote:

might well mean a CAR driver, RIDING A BICYCLE, but would have been in his car if it was raining!!

you are asked at what speed does travelling in car become unsafe.

In fairness I think it ist subjective.

For example - am perfectly happy if Mad Doc drive at over the ton with me as passenger. Ist usually in Germany or on track. The only other time he did this was when whisking me to hospital on green light. Even then he did right thing - told authorities und asked for escort. Ist not to dwell.... I now have deepest dislike of hospital beds ... und imminent kittens make decisions beyond my control....

If my eldest (he ist 18 (August baby) were to drive at such speed - I would urge caution. William ist IAM qualified und steady. But he ist still building up his expertise.. so I would urge cautions und to hone up skills und build on the "dealing with the numpty" skill.

But ist all about COAST. There are roads which you would never dream of driving to limit. You drive BELOW! Ist common sense - nicht?

Yet.. urban duals und other fast road which look like faster roads und no obvious reason to be set at 30 mph und empty motorways.. at 3 a.m und I have travelled at such time when returning from holiday with my Papa und Mama back in my original "Heimat" - you could "test your motor" without becoming "unsafe" as there ist not one soul around as they do tend to sleep at this ungodly hour

So - does depend on condition as to when a speed become "unsafe" for anyone on road.

I think we go full circle again.. back to C O A S T  as model for purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr- fektion !

Lieber IG hat Recht! :yesyes:

I think this would be most correct answer.
