Nowt wrong with that, nothing more irritating than idiots who park in disabled bays or block narrow roads because they can't be arsed walking.

Good idea in principle, provided the sort of contraventions that most sane people would consider minor (e.g. being parked for a couple of minutes past the expiry on your ticket/meter) really are classed as minor under this new scheme, AND provided that it doesn't encourage local authorities to slap a load of new yellow and white paint down and further reduce the available parking... Making it harder to find places to park freely/cheaply just serves to encourage people with the freedom to do so to find other areas in which to do their shopping/socialising, whilst also penalising the people who genuinely do need to visit the area and end up having to pay what can sometimes be utterly ludicrous prices to park legally.
