There's always something funny in them...

Quote:
DR continued that at the Fixed Site in Laybourne Avenue, Bournemouth, a new lamppost has been erected very close to the camera pole and housing preventing the camera door from opening. JG added that Bournemouth is aware of this problem and the lamppost will be repositioned.

The error highlighted in AccsMap miscalculating the polygon site size has been addressed by Buchanan, and it no longer occurs in Version 3.1.

Interesting... AccsMap seems to be an accident mapping program. I wonder if this error could have allowed any camera sites which otherwise wouldn't have been allowed?

Soembody needs to tell them how to use Acrobat Distiller, or failing that there are a million PDF reprocessing programmes out there, from $20 upwards.

One wonders how somebody is stupid enough to order a lamppost to be positioned there, and who is stupid enough to carry out the order? Pretty obvious that if you see a door on a camera and don't know which way it opens then you double check and don't assume somebody else has!

My guess is that the "polygon error" involves the site length, and probably related to the way they are creating the polygons rather than a software error. I hope they aren't just using circular areas as listed on hte Buchanan site, although there is anecdotal evidence that some SCP's are - if you do then it would pick up collisions on unrelated roads. Buchanan appear to do some really neat software though.

If I was told to put in a lamp post and it obstructed a speed camera door I would make sure I did a good job and put it in solidly ;)

I wonder if anybody did do this deliberately because they don't like cameras. I don't have a problem with that but if they then have to move it that's a bit of a waste of money...
