There has recently been a lot of controversy about the lack of black nominees for the Oscars. Commenting on this, I saw a post saying that some professions are almost exclusively white and citing long distance lorry driving as one of these.

After thinking about this for a bit, I came to the conclusion that I too had never seen a black HGV driver. I'm not talking about local delivery vans here but the long distance 38 tonners.

Has anyone got any comments to make about this? Is it really true?

Come to think about it, Malcolm- can't say I've noticed one on that TV driving firm reality program, even after a lot of repeat showings.

Isn't it a learning process...?
As we pick up on learning traits and abilities and skills off our parents, and it's just been slow to catch on ? (perhaps) ?
