Maybe it's not a good idea for animal rights activists to stage a protest against bikers wearing leather

Apparently this is a spoof, but funny all the same.

Love it. :D

Somehow I managed to get past that at first and came to another article on EMP, which takes me back to my days at MSDS, helping to make a battlefield radio for Tanks( and repair it after it had had the tender mercies of REME,and the tank corps driving over them). It's ok- 30 years has passed ,the Eastern Bloc most possibly has blueprints and the British Army don't use this one any more. Not giving anything away ,but this receiver had the capacity to absorb a direct input of a lot of watts into the input. Reason given was a clash of antenna. Nice one, till around that time we got reports of a Soviet aircraft being downed in NATO space and the radio on examination was totally valved. Loud and large amounts of laughter ,till EMP was mentioned. Then silence. No one mentioned the UK tank radio with valve input stage ,with serious limiting protection. Simples- an EMP burst might hurt the crews, but it would have the same effect on semiconductor /chip operated kit as the local chip shop on potatoes- all would be fried .
