Last years MOT was a pain.
The testers used a rolling-road brake tester (car type) and struggled to hold the machine on the rollers....coming-up with the "result" that the brakes were "binding" (which they were not....given that they are self-aligning discs).....after watching the tyres being deformed alarmingly on the tester I have problems putting it through that place again...
According to VOSA the ones that can be used on m/cycles are the class 4 type, with an adaptor plate....and modified software....
Now, how exactly do you find what that is, and whether it has been done ?

56 years after it was decided it was needed, the Bedford Bypass is nearing completion. The last single carriageway length of it.We have the most photogenic mayor though, always being photographed doing nothing

Will try and remember to pick SIL's brain - he dabbles in bikes .

If you ever get to Essex, have a look at Popes Garage in Harold Wood. They've got a car bay and a motorcycle bay next to each other and it does make the differences obvious. I'm nothing to do with them, by the way, just a satisfied customer of many years standing.

Interesting.. When I take mine in it’s like you aren’t really supposed to look at what they’re doing. They have the rolling road thing so I assume they do the same Jom but I hate taking it to someone else because I don’t trust their credentials. I’ve had mine back with a nut loose and things; that’s before I sit on it before you say :D When I had a tyre fitted the once they adjusted the chain improperly; it was too tight. The shaft on the back wheel was too hot to touch when I got back!

To give credit to another guy though, I pride myself in doing my own maintenance but he picked-up on something I missed. The fluid in the clutch lines had become discoloured. :stupidme:

I didn’t know that the oil from my pro-oiler™ chain lube thingy, which was wizzing around the front sprocket, somehow manages to fling off and leach into the hydraulics. It worked fine and I don’t think there’s any possibility of a catastrophe, but even so, I could have kicked myself.

Live and learn; die and forget it all eh...

Had a chat with my daughter,as I've never had a chance to ask my SIL about this. He takes his bikes to a garage which is bikey, and puts the bike in a jig for the brake test .
